.High hardness. With a hardness of 86HRC, it can be made into cold forming tools, shaping molds, wire drawing dies, cutting tools, etc

.High strength and good toughness. The flexural strength at room temperature can reach 2100MPa, and 1190MPa at 1000℃. The best toughened ceramics have a room temperature bending strength of 2000MPa, and KIC can reach 9~12MPa•m1/2 or more. Therefore, it can be used to manufacture engine components, such as push rods, connecting rods, bearings, cylinder liners, piston caps, etc.

.Semiconductivity. ZrO2 is semiconductive at high temperatures, and pure ZrO2 is a good insulator with a specific resistance of up to 1013Ω•cm. After special treatment, ZrO2 is conductive at high temperatures, so it is often used to manufacture high-temperature heating elements. ZrO2 heating elements can be used in air, with a maximum temperature of 2100~2200℃.

.Corrosion resistance. ZrO2 is very stable in an oxidizing atmosphere and is also quite stable in a reducing atmosphere. Zirconia is a weakly acidic oxide that can resist the erosion of acidic or neutral slag (but can be eroded by alkaline slag). Therefore, it can be used as a special refractory material and as a crucible for smelting metals such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium.

.Sensitive characteristics. After stabilization, there are oxygen vacancies, so it can be used as a gas sensor. Zirconia solid electrolyte has the characteristic of transferring oxygen ions under certain conditions, and can be made into high-temperature fuel cell solid electrolyte diaphragms, steel liquid oxygen measurement probes, etc.
